The Leong San Tong Khoo Kongsi Clanhouse is a truly unique heritage site that should not be missed. It is the grandest clan temple in the country and also one of the city’s major historic attractions.
Khoo Kongsi completed around 1906. The temple belongs to the Khoo Kongsi Clan. The temple features fine Chinese architecture and craftsmanship.
Khoo Kongsi located in Cannon Square, the entrance is narrow, you need to tread through an alley between two rows of 19th century terrace house and bypass the opera stage before you see the grand and beautiful building.
It is two story building, upstairs is temple for worship and below is a mini museum for Khoo family whereby genealogical poem or chart was shared. From Chinese middle name, one can trace back their generation sequence.
